Meet Heather

Heather brings over 15 years of experience from the healthcare industry. Heather graduated in 2006 with her Bachelors in Clinical Laboratory Science from Grand Valley State University in Allendale, MI. Heather’s laboratory experience ranged from the Clinical Hospital setting to private sector and brought Heather to Hennepin Healthcare in 2014. In 2018 Heather’s career shifted to organizational strategic planning and process improvement. Heather has experience coaching leaders through improvement efforts in Healthcare Quality such as reducing hospital readmissions in those experiencing housing instability and substance abuse disorder, decreasing patient harms, and improving care team communication. Heather graduated with her Healthcare MBA in 2019 from the Opus College of Business at the University of Saint Thomas. In addition to her career at Hennepin Healthcare, Heather enjoys moonlighting as an operational leader for Crossover Physical Therapy. Heather believes that the real power of improvement comes from the people doing the work. That is Crossover PT’s strength. “I have full confidence in this team. It gives me such joy to see what great ideas our staff have each day to make our patient’s experience the best one possible.”

Heather is married to Michael Simon, the owner of Crossover PT. They have made a great team in setting a vision for the clinic. One thing Heather is most proud of is the daily management system they have built together for the clinic. They have 2 children together, Abigail and Emmett. Heather’s favorite activities revolve around her family. Heather especially enjoys the MN outdoors with her family including hiking and traveling to the North Shore. The Simon family is at the stage in life when after school activities keep you really busy.. Seeing her children grow in confidence each day gives her great joy. The family resides in the STMA community.
